Got a random text and called claiming to be Virgilio with an order when I did not order anything. Called twice from two different numbers, blocked them.

I received a message through uber eats saying that my food was delivered, and when I opened the app, it gave me the option to call the driver if I haven’t received my food and the number was (619) 824-6420. I called, He knew my name and told me that’s weird and that he needs another 15 minutes to get to me and that if he doesn’t find my address on the app he will call me to get my address. He blocked me! And I never got my food. Most probably he’s about to scam an uber driver. I hope the uber driver catches on to the scam before he gets scammed. (Since the number was through the app, it’s either he’s getting help from someone that works at uber, or the app is hacked)

I just received a phone call from this number today. It sounded very legitimate at first. He referred to himself as Uber Safety, stating that the trip I was on was a Test and asked me to cancel, then they said Uber Support would be calling. I suspected a Scam whenever they requested that I nit use my Uber Pro Cedit card for the next four days

The person claimed to be from Uber and said they received complaints that my car smelled of alcohol and I was driving recklessly. Nine of it was remotely true. They then were able to call me on a separate line, which was apparently their personal number. I told them to screw off and hung up. They then tried calling several more times. I eventually picked up and told them Uber support was on the other line and wanted to talk, and the caller immediately hung up. If you ever get a call like this, always call Uber support directly to confirm and never give out any personal information. These calls are almost always scammers. Usually, the scammer will get a hold of you by posing as a rider and then cancelling, and then using Uber support service to get a hold of you. They try to use fear to manipulate drivers to make irrational decisions and transfer their earnings (they’ll say your account was disabled and you need to transfer to a new account Uber set up for you to be able to withdraw).

He said he was from uber support. And took all my money out my uber account. He called from 619-824-6420. He said one of my riders stated I wasnt who I claim to be so they had to verify my acct. And then took all my money. Im furious sad and out of it. Makes me not wanna drive for uber nomore. Especially if I gotta worry bout being scammed out of over 600.00.

I almost got scammed by that jerk scammer said he was an Uber support and told me I had a complaint from my rider and wants to verify my account , but then i got the feeling of very suspicious when he ask my bank account and how much money do I have. Instructed me to do cash app or Apple Pay and transfer my money to savings from checking ! Gosh I pulled over because of this phone call and one cop stopped by and check on me while having a conversation of this scumbag scammer. I almost gave up but good thing God is with me to protect me from evil! My money could have been gone and I would go crazy if that will happen 😞😞😞
